Baked Italian Spinach Crisps
I love to snack. I pretty much graze all day. Instead of turning towards tortilla chips, I like to find healthier options when I’m having a salt craving.
I know kale chips are very popular, but I wanted to try something different. I came across a Baked Spinach recipe on Popsugar that seemed easy enough.
They really turned out delicious, but I have to say, it took a moment for my taste buds to pick it up. The spinach leaf is so much lighter than kale. These spinach crisps are so light and flaky. So light and flaky and delicious, that after sampling one out of the oven, I forgot I still needed to take pictures and continued munching away until I came to my senses and remembered to snap some pictures.
Of course once the pictures were taken the rest of the crisps magically disappeared… excuse me as I wipe away some spinach flakes from my desk.
Popsugar’s recipe suggests Garlic Powder, I replaced mine with Italian Seasoning. Feel free to add your favorite seasoning.
Yield: 1 serving
Time: 15 minutes
- 2 cups spinach
- a few drops of olive oil
- Italian Seasoning
- Sea Salt (I used Rosemary Sea Salt)
Preheat over to 325.
Toss spinach in boil with few drops of olive oil and mix, making sure to coat all the leaves. Careful not to pour too much or the spinach won’t get crispy.
Sprinkle Italian Seasoning and Sea Salt to taste.
Put parchment paper on cookie sheet before laying spinach out in a single layer.
Bake for 7 – 10 minutes. Keep your eye on it after 7 minutes. It goes from baked to burnt pretty quickly. Leaves will darken and shrink a bit.
Remove from oven and allow to sit for a few minutes.
